Marta Bassino and Giuliano Razzoli were wandering around the Skipass stands chased by Pietro Vitalini armed with a cell phone shouting: "Safety!". We couldn't pretend nothing happened. We captured them, dragged them into our booth and interrogated them about what was happening.
A nice little scene was born but the news is anything but trivial.
It's called ICE-KEY – In Case Of Emergency, a chip based on NFC technology, Near Field Communication, on which it is possible (via an App) to upload the personal data, including contact details, and medical information of the wearer.
Rescuers, with a smartphone equipped with NFC technology, will thus be able to access all the information necessary for prompt and safe medical intervention. Especially in case of shock and unconsciousness, or even simply to reunite the athlete with their coach or parent.
With his experience as an excellent athlete, aware of the importance of effective and quick intervention following a fall in competition or training, Pietro Vitalini immediately understood the value of this sophisticated system for the world of sport.
Hence the idea of applying, at no additional cost, the «VITALINI SAFETY SYSTEM ICE-KEY» device on all the race suits in the new collection.
The system is also applied on the garments of the Italian Army that Vitalini has been wearing for several seasons. Marta Bassino and Giuliano Razzoli are two of the best standard bearers of the Army within the Azzurra alpine skiing team. So they worked hard to spread this very important system.
